I just learned of Jim's passing. I'm sorry I'm so late in posting this.

I met Jim and his co-presenter, Murry Hohns (Wagner, Hohns & Inglis), at a training on design and construction defects and claims in Arizona. At the time I worked for HUD as part of the management team developing difficult housing projects on Indian reservations all over the Southwest. He gave me hope that we could reverse some the terrible outcomes when some of these projects ended up in court. He changed the `loser mindset´ of our HUD attorneys. The last case I worked on with him, we were the winners! He was the most skillful negotiator I'd ever met!

Outside of the confines of the government context in which our relationship formed, he became a friend when there was really no reason for him to do so. He was gracious with his time and advice. I was always thankful.

Jim was one of the special people I met during my 25-year career at HUD. I´m grateful for having known him and learned from him.

Condolences to his family and friends.

I first met Jim when he sued one of my clients! My client had a slam dunk case that even a inexperienced lawyer would have easily one.we felt very secure and had one of the top lawyer in SF. Guess what? Jim easily one the case. I said to myself I will never be on the other side again. That started a long 20 plus year friend ship. Lempres & Wulfsberg and all the partners that followed became friends as well as a client. I will never forget the business, personal close connections I had with Jim. We shared many of the same clients and every one of them were devastated by his passing! Rarely in life are you lucky enough to meet someone like him and never will you meet someone with his integrity, loyalty and caring for you as a person! There will never be another one like him! I love you my friend .

I am deeply saddened by Jim's passing. I had the opportunity to interact with Jim on multiple occasions as he supported BV on challenging projects. On one occasion I was a witness for him and I must say that watching him in the trial was amazing. He was absolutely masterful in how he drove the case - which he won of course. I loved getting to know him and hear stories of the past and how much he adored his family. He will forever be in my memories as a man of great character and tremendous ethics. My condolences to the family - I pray that the memories of Jim provide you peace.

It is with great sadness to receive the news of Jim here in Australia. I had the pleasure of working with Jim, Todd, David and the rest of the crew in Riverside. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly meeting up with Jim and the team for a chin wag, dinner and wine. oh and the wine! Jim is so welcoming, warm and joyous. He made me feel like family and that he was my Uncle. Jim will forever be with us - I will never forget him. Peace to you Jim, and thank you for being you.
