Helen Virginia Brenzel (July 24, 1937- January 11, 2023)
Helen Virginia Brenzel passed away on January 11, 2023 in her home in Revere, MA. She is dearly missed by her family and friends. She was born in San Francisco and raised in Oakland where she went to Castlemont High School. Helen attended UC Berkeley and studied music (piano) and philosophy, where she met her husband, Gary Brenzel 67 years ago. Helen was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She enjoyed teaching and nurtured her children's interests in theater, sports, and music and fostered in them a broader curiosity about the world. Helen was a long-time resident of San Leandro, Sacramento and Napa, and more recently of Chevy Chase, MD and Revere, MA.
Her wisdom, intellect, smile, laugh, zest for life, great conversations, nurturing ways, her many talents, love of family and friends leaves a permanent illumination on all of the lives of those who knew her that will never go away.
She is survived by her husband Gary, and her children Logan Brenzel (Ernest Massiah), Jason Brenzel (Neathery) and Seth Brenzel (Malcolm Gaines); and her brother William Boggs (Janice) of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was a loving grandmother to Olivia and Zara Massiah, Cora Brenzel Gaines, and Ulysses, Athena, Cyrus, and Persephone Brenzel. She is preceded in death by her daughter Dina Brenzel and her parents Robert and Claudia (Tsiganoff) Boggs.
