Dr. Henry Louis Augustine Jr. departed this life on December 29, 2020. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandra "Sandy" Payne Augustine, and his parents, Henry L. Augustine Sr. and Maudie Mae Goods. He leaves to cherish his loving memory - his daughters, Yolanda Rene Augustine (Damion DeHayard), Kimberly Louise Augustine, and Angelina Maria Augustine; grandchildren, Michael Mendaros, Maya Mendaros, Kimberly Haskell, Phillip Hassell, Jasmine Hassell, Shauna Canada, James Marshall, and Alexander Stephens Augustine; great grandchildren, Thomas Finley III, Tiger Finley, Kaitlyn Hassell-Augustine, Kaiden Maxwell, Jailyn Maxwell, and Khalani Hassell; siblings, Deborah A. Elam, and the Rev. Dr. Jonathan C. Augustine along with his devoted colleague, Dr. Kim A. Wise-Gastinell; the mother of his first two daughters, Janet Greene-Augustine, and the mother of his youngest daughter, Mary Esther Higgs Augustine Esq.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, former colleagues, students, and friends.

What a great guy...I had the pleasure of working with him for almost 30 years at CCSF. He was a giant on campus and the go-to person for many students and faculty. He is a friend that will certainly be missed. Great job, Henry!!!

“Doc” was my comrade, my colleague, my mentor and my friend, and kept me sane as I traversed the autumn of my career. Always with a smile and a quip, he taught me the essence of persistence and accomplishment. Indeed, his legacy is the influence he had on me and the thousands of students that came into his sphere ... “Doc” will never be forgotten.
