Hubert Wong Obituary
December 5, 1931- March 17, 2017
Hubert G. Wong passed peacefully in his sleep at Pacifica Mission Villa in Daly City on March 17, 2017, after a short illness. He was 85. He is survived by wife Judy; children Cheryl, Linda, and Stacy; sons-in-law Brian, Matt, and Eric; grandchildren Henry, Ben, and Samuel; brothers James and Paul, and sister Susan; sisters-in-law Myrtrice, May, Alicia, Edwina, Elizabeth, and Pamela; brothers-in-law Millard, Joel, and Lorrin; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.Hubert was born and raised in San Francisco, attended Commodore Stockton Elementary School, Francisco Junior High School, and graduated from Commerce High School. Hubert served in the US Navy after two years of college. Upon discharge, he continued his college education and graduated with a BA in Psychology & Sociology from San Francisco State University. Hubert joined the Alameda County Social Services Agency after college, where he served faithfully for many years and retired as Division Chief in 1992. Hubert was a founding member of San Francisco YMCA ARO Service Club in which he participated all his life.
Hubert loved gardening and photography, which has provided the family with a legacy of happy memories. He was a gentle, kind, and patient man. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his smile, unwavering love, his sincere attention, and his wise advice. Hubert, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend will be missed by all.
Memorial service to be held at Ashley & McMullen-Wing Sun Mortuary, Saturday, March 25, 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chinatown YMCA, 855 Sacramento St, San Francisco, CA 94108.

My deepest sympathies to the Wong family for your loss. I will remember Mr Wongs welcoming smile.
My mother enjoyed talking with him about growing up in San Franciso when they worked together at Oakland Housing.
