Iris J. Charles

Iris J. Charles Our beautiful wife and mother has passed away after a brief illness on July 3, 2008. Iris was born on January 31, 1929 in Iota, LA. She was raised by her parents with her 11 brothers and sisters. Mom was valedictorian of her high school class and was involved in many civic and social activities with her husband. For relaxation, she loved to play bingo and was very lucky. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Felton; mother, Lorena Pete of Jennings, LA; children, Michael Charles, MD and his wife Beverly Roberts Charles of Oakland, CA; Carol Eason and her husband Donald of Elk Grove, CA; grandchildren, Alexis, Jessica, Gregory and Brianna; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Preceding mom in death were children, Gregory Lawrence and Sheila Arlene Charles. Friends are invited to attend the Vigil Service on Friday at 9:30 am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at All Hallows Church, Newhall at Palou Avenue.
