Jackie had a drawer in her desk reserved for her chambers' visitors--full of all kinds of candies. She could be tough as shoe leather but she was always sweet as candy and as fair as pure justice itself.

You may not know how much of an animal lover she was. A wonderful human being, a privilege to have known her and worked with her.

She married us after a private dinner with us and her clerk Kay. Later we had another wedding in Santa Barbara, this time without a valid license. We loved her and she loved us.

Jackie is a cousin of mine who descends from a long line of Johnson's in Wyoming. Her grandparents in this state came here from Denmark and homesteaded a ranch that was in the family for 92 years. She visited the ranch often and enjoyed wearing denim clothes and working in the hay field with her Uncle and cousins.
I will definitely miss Jackie. We shared pictures, memories and family history.
