Dear Coreris Family -
I have so many fond memories of Jimmy walking down 43rd Avenue, always taking time to talk to us kids. As we got older, we was always there to tell a joke or pass on a story.
Jimmy and Irene were great friends to my parents, Regina and William Breitenstein. He always rang the doorbell when he was going by the house, on his way to his job at St. Annes.
I remember him always jumping out in front of my car when I was going up Judah Street and throwing his crossing guard sign in front of the car. He loved making sure that the kids were safe and I'm sure they loved him.
I like my sister was thinking of Jimmy just the other day. Since my father passed away, he was often on my mind, always giving me a chuckle.
Jimmy touched so many lives. Always remembered, never forgotten. His love for us kids will live on forever.
My deepest sympathy to you all...

Hello, Coreris Family-
Jimmy will be forever entrenched in my memory. He was so full of life and had an absolutely wicked sense of humor. I loved running into him on 43rd Avenue when I lived there as a child & when visiting my parents' home as an adult. I could hang out with him for hours, listening to his WWII tales about Italy, feeding the troops & seeing Sofia Loren! (Did he REALLY meet her?!) My parents, Bill & Regina Breitenstein, considered Jimmy one of those rare, true blue friends. My sisters and I wholly appreciate the kindness and friendship both Irene & Jim showed to our parents over several decades. Jimmy was always sprinting down 43rd Avenue on his way to the N Judah with a mission: to run a few errands for his beloved Irene, to chat with anyone who was lucky enough to step in his path, to make you laugh heartily, and to spread good cheer--even if HE was feeling a little crotchety that day! His spirit was infectious and I wish I had just one more day to spend with him! He will be sorely missed but I hope you're able to find solace in the fact that he touched SO many lives in a positive way. You're in my prayers.

Dear Stella, Mimi and Linda:
Jimmy will be sadly missed by all. I was very sad to hear about your dad's passing, as well as the rest of our family. Our family has fond memories of the times we all got together at each others homes and watched movies on TV and ate popcorn. I even remember in the late 50's, the walks we would take with both of our families to Ocean Beach to go on the rides. I don't know if you remember that far back! My daughter Gina and I were just talking about your dad the other night. We will always have fond memories of your parents. Our parents loved your parents dearly as well as all of us.
Love - Karen Breitenstein and family

Stella,
I'm sadden by hearing of your dad's passing. The few times I met him at your home and at Stevie's birthday party at Rodgers Smith Park brings back memories of a man proud of his life's accomplishments. His ever present "happy-go-lucky" smile and sparkle in his eyes are unforgetable. I'm sure he's doing the same thing in heaven.

Stella, Mimi, Linda,
I will miss Uncle Jim more than words can express. The daily calls checking to make sure everything was fine, especially with my Mom, will be missed. His love of family, faith and country serves as a role model for all who had the good fortune of knowing him. This last year I had the opportunity to spend more time with him, especially our trips to Costco or going out for lunch...I love him very much. Your father was/is a wonderful man.

Lynn Mahoney & Family:
Jim will be greatly missed. He lived life to the fullest extent. He was so outgoing and personable with everyone he met. He may have been 92, but he loved life so much, he acted like he was 60. The last time I saw him, we all went gambling. He loved to gamble! With deepest sympathy, Jill, Todd, Connor, and Makayla Teel (one of Lynn's best friends)

Jim will be sorely missed on 43rd Avenue. He's seen us grow up by living a few doors down. He was the nicest and most loving man with the patience of an angel. His stories and smile will live forever in our hearts.

I met Mr. Coreris when he was a Crossing Guard for St. Anne's school. He was very dedicated and committed to his work for the safety of the children and adults crossing the streets'.
When I was working at Holy Cross Cemetery, I met Mr. Coreris a few times when he came to visit his late wife. Each time he would show me the picture he lovingly carried in his wallet of her and would say how much he missed her. May he rest in peace and be re-united with her in heaven. My condolences to the family in his passing.
