James Miller Obituary
02/17/1926 - 07/25/2024
Jim Miller passed away peacefully on July 25, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by parents, James and Clara, wife Anita, and brothers Chuck and John. Survived by sons James (Melanie) and Tony (Claudia) grandchildren Nicholas (Khristine), Joel, Lauren Roth (Alex), Montana, Brodie, great-grandchildren Destiny, James, Nellie Roth, and numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Brooklyn, he spent most of his life in San Francisco. As a teenager, he spent memorable time in Honolulu during World War II and served there in the army. After retiring from Continental Insurance (where he met his wife Anita) he became a long-time volunteer on the National Liberty Ship Memorial Jeremiah O'Brien. Proud member of the crew that sailed the ship to Normandy for the 50th anniversary of D-Day. Many thanks to friend and neighbor Pearl Joe who kept an eye on him and always saw that he was well fed! Thanks also to Shauna and the crew from Pathways who provided kind and excellent care. Donations to The National Liberty Ship Memorial or a charity of your choice.

Grandpa Jim was so sweet when many years ago he gave me and my two young nephews a guided tour of the Jeremiah O´Brien.....they thought he was their real grandfather for a while!
