James Morse Obituary

James R Morse May 30, 1925 ~ Nov. 11, 2011 Never doubt how much a game of kick-the-can may change your life. He met his wife and soul mate Dorothy Anne DeSomery at just such a game when they were 6 years old. They were married for 56 glorious years and Jim now joins Dobbie in eternity. Jim died peacefully in his home under Hospice care. He was born in Mason City Iowa - an only child. He served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He received both his BA and MBA from Dartmouth College. He began his career at Wells Fargo Bank's Trust Department in San Francisco then left to join White Weld & Company in San Francisco and Manhattan for almost 20 years. Upon leaving White Weld he held short stints at American Express Asset Management Company and Bank of America Investment Management Company before starting his own firm Kingsley, Jennison, McNulty and Morse and Dynamic Funds. He served on the Board of Directors for Planned Parenthood of Northern California and was the Treasurer for Second Opinion. He was a member of the Bohemian Club, the Chit Chat Club, the Gustine Gun Club, and the Investor's Enterprise Group. He was also a member of the Guardsmen. Jim never believed in retirement but did so at the tender age of 85. He is survived by his daughters Ann Morse and Elizabeth Covington and husband Stuart and his son James R Morse jr. and wife Katherine and daughter Miranda Dorothy. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Second Opinion or Hospice who took good care of him in his final hours. A celebration of life will be held on Friday January 5th 2012 from 3-5PM.
