James Weersing Obituary

James Richard Weersing

February 13, 1939-April 25, 2015

James Richard Weersing, 76, died surrounded by family on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in San Francisco. Born on February 13, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA, Jim received both his BA (1960) and MBA (1962) from Stanford University.

A successful entrepreneur and businessman, Jim's career spanned more than 50 years. He served as President of JRW Technology, Managing General Partner of MBW Management, and Chairman and CEO of private and public companies.

Jim traveled broadly and delighted in exploring new areas and meeting new people. He loved the outdoors, read widely, and enjoyed good conversation over a cup of coffee. Generous with his time and a supporter of his community, he inspired many and will be missed by friends around the world.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Weersing, and his children Susan Weersing, Mike Weersing, Carol Nicholas, Rick Weersing, and Jonathan Klotz. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: McKenna, Ryan, Spencer and Emerson.

If you would like to remember Jim, these were his favorite charities: Pescadero Education Foundation (http://www.pescaderoeducationfoundation.com/#); South Coast Children's Services (PayPal, Send Money to Friends and Family, [email protected]); and Puente (https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/puente).

A much loved man, brilliant, insightful and so personable, who believed in the potential of all people. A mentor to many, including myself. He is irreplaceable. We will miss you Jim.
