Jeffrey Thomson Obituary

Jeffrey B Thomson
January 7, 1938 - August 16, 2023
Jeffrey Blaine Thomson 85-year-old native of San Francisco passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023, in Santa Rosa. He was pre-deceased by his parents Monroe and Lillian. He is survived by Vicki, his wife of 64 years; sister, Lynn (Ralph); children Debra (Ed); Ron (Gina); Kristi (Jason); grandchildren: Jesse, Jeffrey (Jason), Katie, Jack, Emili, and Lucas, and great grand-daughter Harper. Born and raised in San Francisco's Marina District, Jeff loved "The City". He attended Lowell High School where he played varsity basketball and met the love of his life, Victoria Jean. He joined the Olympic Club when he was 12 years old and was a member for more than 65 years. He was an avid supporter of the Giants and Warriors and a 49er faithful season ticketholder from Kezar to Candlestick. Jeff was one of the graduates of the Santa Clara University memorable class of 1960. Jeff then worked in sales for more than 30 years in the S.F. Bay Area. The center of Jeff's life was always his family and friends. His greatest joy came from watching all the many activities of his children, grandchildren, and great grand-daughter. After retirement, he and Vicki traveled and enjoyed their time together in the Sonoma Valley. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 26th at 11: 00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1300 St. Francis Road, Santa Rosa. Donations in honor of Jeff may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Nothern California.

As I recall, Jeff was a varsity basketball player playing guard beside Tom Meschery & the late Mel Prescott. It's been about 5+ years since I've seen Jeff at one of our lunches. RIP...

First, Bob Lom, now Jeff whom I recall that Benny Neff loved having Jeff on the 120s basketball team. Jeff used to join Tornberg, Mackintosh, Baba, Yasukochi, Sevier and me at our irregular lunch meetings to talk about old times at Lowell.

Deepest condolences to Vicki, another Lowell grad.

Just to add another sweet memory..... Once when Jeff and Vicki were visiting Roy and me in Minneapolis, Roy told Jeff what a BIG 49'ers fan Leslie was (she was born in San Francisco). Jeff took off his 49'ers baseball cap and GAVE it to her!

The cap is now with Leslie's 24-yr-old daughter Serena, in Colorado! She's a 49'ers fan, TOO!

Deepest and Sincerest sympathy to Vicki and all of Jeff's family. Thank you, Jeff, for all of the wonderful memories, both in California and Minnesota ... but especially those late night visits at Parkmerced and that New Year's Eve Party at the Olympic Club! You and Roy were great friends.
