Jennifer Golick Obituary

Dr. Jennifer Leslie Gray Golick

Jennifer Leslie Gray Golick, 42, lost her life Friday, March 9, 2018, at the California Veterans Home in Yountville, serving veterans with PTSD.
Jenn, known to her family and close friends as ""Jiffy,"" was born January 12, 1976 in Houston, Texas and moved with her family to Calistoga at age one.

A member of the Calistoga High School class of 1994, Jenn earned a B.A in Psychology from the University of California-Davis, a M.A in Counseling Psychology from Sonoma State University and her Ph.D in Philosophy from Akamai University in Hilo, Hawaii. She lived in St. Helena with her beloved daughter, Makena, and husband, Marc. Jennifer and Marc would have celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this summer.

Jenn's listening skills were legendary. She maintained a clear-eyed belief that people could heal by being heard. Not only was she an incredible listener, she was a talented public speaker, traveling the country championing for adolescent mental health.
An enthusiastic runner, Jenn delighted in races around the Bay Area. From Crossfit to Tough Mudders, she thrived when challenging herself. Her love of the San Francisco Giants was infectious. She loved her pets fiercely, including dogs Floyd, Hambone and Ripley.

As wife, mom, aunt, sister and friend, survivors include her daughter, Makena Golick, and husband, Marc Golick; her mom, Lani Gray, and stepfather, Tom Van Blankenship; brother, Randy Gray, sister, Laurie Gray Bounsall and her husband, Jeff Bounsall, sister-in-law, Mariko Gray, niece Kimiko Gray, nephew Casey Bounsall, niece Kara Dawson and a community full of friends.
She joins her father, Randy Gray, and dog, Bo.

A GoFundMe account has been set up at https://www.gofundme.com/napa-tragedy-momfrienddoctor with funds going to support Marc and Makena, as well as The Pathway Home and Paws for a Cause.
