Jim Kirwan Obituary
James Martin Kirwan (Jim) died peacefully at home at age 84 on June 16, 2024.
KIRWAN~ as he was known professionally in the art world, could see life in TECHNICOLOR & awesome clarity! Jim's passions were Art, Life, People & the city of SAN FRANCISCO! "The only place in the world to live!" Jim was born an activist!
Jim was that rare MAN who had the integrity to LIVE his life head on! Artistic inspiration, guidance and help sometimes came from his Muse.
As a friend said of Jim-He was a powerful force of ethical behavior.
Irascible, funny, strident, this world will not be the same without him!

Jim is survived by his 2 sisters: Joan Johnston in Plainfield, Iowa, Jeanne Shultz & Richard in Rochester, NY, and companion, Cassandra Atkins.

Jim was my step father from age 7-15. Although not legally my dad, he raised me as if he was. Over the years, we didn´t see each other or talk as often as I wish we had, but he was always in my heart. I hope he is at peace!

KIRWAN deeply cared about ALL of humanity! His political commentaries will come to be recognized & valued for his remarkable insight & clarity! This world will NOT be the same without KIRWAN in it! . . . He was my brother!!!
