Joan Chisholm Obituary

CHISHOLM, Joan - Joan Emelie Chisholm passed away peacefully at Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame, CA, Friday, August 5, 2005. She was 79. Having only recently recovered from spinal surgery (February, '05) and a hip replacement (May, '05), she was unable to overcome a sudden bout with pneumonia. Joan is survived by her son, Steve Chisholm, of Foster City, CA. She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Dorothy Boegeman, Mary Frances Hicks, and Martha Orozco. She will also be greatly missed by all of her friends and her many nieces and nephews A native of Pasadena, CA, Joan was a longtime employee of Endevco, and relocated with the company from Pasadena to San Clemente in the '70s. During her long career there she was an executive secretary, then an export coordinator and finally, a production planner. After her retirement in 1990, Joan moved to a senior apartment in Pacifica, CA, just south of San Francisco. Joan was active in Pacifica, and loved to drive her bright yellow Volkswagen around town every day. She enjoyed living by the ocean, and took many vacations aboard cruise liners with her son Steve. She particularly loved cruising Alaska's inside passage. She was also fond of complaining about Pacifica's foggy weather, which she regularly "escaped" by visiting with Steve and friends in Foster City, where the sun usually shines. Memorial Services are being planned at this time. Please feel free to call O'Connell's Chapel, (650) 345-8585 for place and time of services. Memorial Contributions may be made to Pacifica Friends of the Library, 104 Hilton Way, Pacifica, CA 94044 (650) 355-5196. Arrangements by O'Connell's Chapel

Steve- Sorry to read about Mom. It's been too MANY years since high school but I still remember her and the VWs. So glad she enjoyed life!

At Pacific's, before she broke her neck!
