Joan Ellen Lawrie (nee Mcphee) 85 passed away on February 15, 2023, in San Francisco, CA. She is now at peace after valiantly facing many health issues.
Joan was born in San Francisco to John and Hazel McPhee on March 20, 1937. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in San Francisco in 1955.
Joan is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Robert Lawrie, Daughter Michelle Payne (Mark), Sons Anthony Lang(Tera), David Lang, Stepson James Lawrie (Alice), Stepdaughter Vicki Schneider and 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Joan was predeceased by her parents John and Hazel, sister Alice Bertram and son John Lang.
Joan had worked at Western Electric for 10 years, the San Francisco Unified School District for 20 years and then retiring from The Irish Cultural Center after 20 years at the age of 80. She was a hard worker who continued to work as she enjoyed the social interaction and loved being around her work friends/family. She had season tickets to Broadway by the Bay and looked forward to each production taking her friends and family.
Per Joan's request a private celebration of life will take place in San Francisco.

So sorry to learn of Joan´s passing. I remember her fondly from her days at the Irish Center. She was a great waitress and always fun to talk to. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a hard worker and had a great sense of humor. May she rest in peace.
