John Bianchi Obituary

BIANCHI, John Joseph - Has passed away peacefully in Sacramento, on September 11, 2005. A kind, gentle man with a playful sense of humor, John's eyes had a sparkle and his kind smile was known to many. Born in S.F., October 7, 1916, John attended Brett Harte and Balboa High School. He served his country in 1941 for four years, receiving five service medals. His career began and ended in the trucking industry. After closing his company, Peninsula Delivery Service, in the 60's, he worked as a solicitor and driver, fondly call "The Admiral". Loving son of the late Luigi and Rosa Bianchi; dearly beloved baby brother of the late Josephine "Pinnie" Risso and Ida Bianchi. Preceded in death by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Michael "Babe" Risso and Robert Neri. Survived by his loving children, Gregory (Sydney) Bianchi of Colorado; Barbara Bianchi of South San Francisco and their mother, Josephine Pizzolon of San Francisco; grandchildren, Courtney (Zack) Cook, Paul, Andrea, David and Daniel Bianchi of Colorado. Loving in-laws, Alfredo and Clara Pizzolon of Burlingame and Carla Neri of Cordelia. Preceded in death on June 11, 2005 by his wife of 22 years, Alma Rice Bianchi and her son Robert Rice (1997). Survived by his caring stepfamily: son, Jack Rice of Utah (Sue of San Mateo); daughter, Patty (Bob) Rich of San Jose. Loving grandsons, Richard (Kim) Victor and Jason Rice; great-grandchildren, Jeunne', Antonio, and Tyson Victor of Sacramento. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of Walnut Whitney Care Center, especially Debbie Atkins, who all attended to them with gentle love and care. Arrangements were made by Neptune Society. Memorial Services to be held in Sacramento and San Francisco shortly. Donations may be made to the American Red Cross-Katrina Fund, or a charity of your choice.
