For a man I remember from a very young age was always amazing to be around. He loved playing the harmonica. I remember sitting around with him and relatives on the 4th of July every year singing all various patriotic songs. He will always be remembered as someone that anyone will look up to and strive to be like.

Uncle John and Aunt Nina invited Susan and I, newlyweds and in the midst of US Naval Aviation training, to stay with them in there home in Daly City in 1984 while I completed my Navy P-3 Orion flight training at Moffett Field, Hanger One, as Susan and I prepared to join our first squadron, Patrol Squadron One ( VP-1 ) in Barbers Point, Hawaii.

During this time Susan would join John on his daily walks, in the fog of Daly City, and soon Susan began referring to Uncle John as her "best friend" in San Francisco. Nina and John made our stay in San Francisco warm and wonderful. Susan and I, to this day, feel blessed for having the opportunity to be with these wonderful people.

They just don't come any better than Aunt Nina and Uncle John. They always made you feel special and loved when you walked in the door We miss Uncle John and always will. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts and examples (Susan and I will be married 30 years this December).

God bless you. Peace.

John was, and still is, a great man! "Still is" because now he is in the presence of God Almighty, because he came to Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sin. It was an honor to know him and experience the depth of his character, and hear him teach. He was loved by all who knew him.

I SAT NEXT TO JOHN TRUCH IN A HISTORY CLASS AT DOELGER'S SR. CENTER. OUR TEACHER, GRIFF, ALWAYS REFERRED TO JOHN TRUCH IF HE WAS STUMPED ON AN ITEMS. JOHN TRUCH WAS ALWAYS INTERESTED IN ALL HISTORY SUBJECT MATTERS AND WAS AT ALL TIMES A GENTLEMAN AS WELL AS A SCHOLAR. HE WAS INDEED A DELIGHT TO KNOW AND TO RESPECT. GERI BELL

I was a student of Mr. Truch at Franciso Jr. High in SF in the 1950s. Mr. Truch was much liked and respected by all the students. He was a very pleasant man, a great teacher, and "cool". I still remember the subject matter that I learned in his science class. All the students knew of his naval service in WWII. He was a true hero.
