JOHN WAY

John Way Accomplished Chinese Artist, John Way (Wei Letang), passed away on April 4, 2012 at the age of 91. John Way was born in Shanghai, China. As a child he trained with the masters in ancient calligraphy. In 1956 Way emigrated to United States and embraced the exciting work of America's East Coast modern art movement. For the past sixty years, Way has attempted to bring these two seemingly diverse art forms in harmony through his paintings. John Way is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jemima; son, Douglas Way and daughter-in-law, Helen Young of Sausalito, CA; daughter, Aurora Geary and son-in-law, Richard Geary of Newburyport, MA; granddaughter, Angela Pecjo, of Sudbury, MA; grandson, Christopher Way, of Sausalito, CA; and two great granddaughters, Kathryn and Elizabeth Pecjo. Services were held at Cypress Lawn on Saturday the 7th of April, 2012.
