Josephine passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 90 surrounded by her loving family and her devoted caregivers Carlota and Milett.
Born in Nenagh, County Tipperary, Ireland, she was the 10th of 12 children of Bridget and John Moylan. While in her 20's she accompanied her younger brother to the US with every intention of returning, until she met the love of her life, Daniel Patrick Healy, at a Kerry Picnic Hayride. They enjoyed 44 happily married years until his unexpected death in 1996.
They settled down in San Francisco to raise their family and were devoted members of St. Gabriel parish. Josephine, a highly skilled nurse who trained in London, enjoyed a 40-year career and retired from Laguna Honda Hospital.
She volunteered at the St. Anthony dining hall and was a longtime member of the Hibernians. She loved spending time with her family, crocheting, and traveling both domestically and abroad with her husband and friends. She also made frequent trips to her homeland of Ireland.
She is survived by her children; John (Heather) Healy, daughter Maria (Paul) Healy Mortenson, and her daughter-in-law Alma Healy. She was preceded in death by her little girl, Bridget Mary, in 1962 and her son Patrick in 2018. She leaves behind her grandchildren Nicki, Samantha, Julia, Colin, Evan, Elizabeth, Sean and Haley and her great-grandchildren Matthew, Christian and Jameson.
Friends are invited to visit on Monday, May 29th from 3pm to 7pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave. in Daly City where a Vigil will begin at 6pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 30th at 11am at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 2559 40th Ave. in San Francisco. She will be laid to rest with her husband and daughter in a private ceremony at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
