Julius was born and raised in San Francisco. He met the love of his life, Ruth Krebs (d. 2022), at Mission High School. They were married an extraordinary 63 years, raising three children, Steve (Sherry), Todd, and Julia in South San Francisco.
Jules served in the Marine Reserves. A longtime Local Union 38 member, he served as a Union officer and an instructor. He built a respected career as an HVAC technician for Trane Co. and was a strong leader. He and Ruth loved hosting parties. They organized annual holiday Toys for Tots toy drives.
Jules valued friendship and community. He was a member of the Elks Club, and enjoyed the father-daughter dances. He shared decades of memories with friends and family at 49ers games, playing bocce ball and card games, fishing, attending theater, camping, and traveling Europe. Jules' greatest joy was time spent with his five grandchildren, Jessica (Ryan), Cierra (Casey), Grace, Julien and Carson. He taught them to fish, to love a good book, and to appreciate family traditions and adventures.
Julius was the heart of his family, a loyal husband, dedicated friend, devoted father, and proud grandfather. His kindness, integrity, and generosity will be cherished and remembered always.
Memorial Service will be held at Duggan's Serra Mortuary 500 Westlake Ave Daly City, CA 94014 on Saturday November 22, 2025 at 10:00 am. Reception to follow.

Met Jules and Ruth at retirement week with local 38 at Silverado. They were very friendly and fun to be around. Would always look forward to seeing them every year. Rest in peace Mark and Betty Lillie

I am reeling from hearing about the loss of Jules. For so many years you all were the landmarks in my calendar with holidays, school plays, and special life events spent together. Ruth and Jules provided the foundation for those days with dinners and parties at their house. Ruth laughing, setting the perfect table, preparing the meal and Jules always somewhat in the background putting up the decorations, carving the turkey and overseeing the ensuing chaos.
I remember all the trips to Hawaii we had together and these trips were really when I got to know and have quiet talks with Jules. I remember fondly how well respected he was by everyone in the family for his thoughtful guidance and I too grew to seek his opinions and wisdom on many occasions.
Of course Ruth and I were thick as thieves and adored each other but Jules was always part of our friendship and would laugh with us as we mercilessly teased each other. Every conversation would invariably have Ruth "complaining" to Jules about something I was saying to get her laughing. I cannot think of either one of them without smiling in admiration of their amazing relationship of over 60 years, the loving focus and influence on their children and grandchildren and over 20 years of love and laughs we shared. I will miss them both forever.
