Justin Beard Obituary

Justin David Beard March 20, 1980 - May 12, 2007 Was born in Maryland where he lived until his family returned to California when he was 5 years old. The remainder of his 27 years of life were spent in Sonoma County and Berkeley, CA, where he attended Arrowsmith Academy and BCC. Justin died unexpectedly in Berkeley in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 12th. Justin's loving spirit and his laughter earned him many friends and they, together with his family, are devastated by his loss. Music was central for Justin, an audiophile and disc jockey. He worked in music related companies in the Bay Area, most recently for Pro-Home Systems. Because of his passion for music and his dream of bringing the finest possible sound to others, he brought joy to music lovers around Northern CA. Justin's hopes and dreams for the future were on the verge of being realized when he met his untimely death. Justin is survived by his parents David Beard and Mary Snowden; sister, Lisa Beard of Sacramento, CA; grandmother, Riquetta Keller of Berkeley, CA; uncle John Beard and family; aunt, Jean Sanders; uncles, David Snowden, Joe Snowden, Phil Snowden and their families; and aunt Louise Goldman and family. They and his many friends in Sonoma County and the Bay Area mourn this great loss. A service honoring this beautiful being will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at 4pm at St. Mark Episcopal Church, 2300 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, CA 94704.

Only took me 18 years to get on here. Justin was a dear friend to me and I think of him frequently. He will always be a part of me. Deeply miss him.

It is with unabated shock I send best wishes to all who loved him. I met Justin only a few times, yet here I am to attest to his notably kind soul.
Justin had such a sweetness. Combined with his verve and obvious intelligence, his interest in ethics, plus his devotion to his grandmother Riquetta Keller-- the world is obviously poorer for this untimely and unimaginable loss.

I wish to offer my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Justin. I met Justin a number of times while visiting his grandmother, and I was always impressed by his kind, playful, loving spirit. I am grateful that I had a chance to know him. The loss of this young man is tragic, deep and incalculable. My heart goes out to all of you, especially his family who loved him so. Please accept my deepest condolences, and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.
