I met Karen when she was the deli manager at the Safeway Store on Market and Church in SF and I was the first assistant manager. We became very close and socialized outside of work. I remember every Monday when she would talk about her wonderful weekends with her than boyfriend Dave, her daughters and especially her new grandbaby. We laughed and cried at times and I will never forget her. I know the pearly white gates have opened widely for her. We will meet again in a better place.

We spent a wonderful weekend at The Cobra Bash two years ago. We laughed often and spoke of our children and our love of gardening. What a loving, warm hearted, full of life and laughter .. kind hearted woman she was. She never gave up !! She always told me, she was getting better..
I am so happy that we got to know each other and share a wonderful time at this event. One thing that really stands out in my hearts eye..is how she loved to dance!!
Her soul would celebrate in every step she took.
May God hold her and her loving family in the palm of his hands always.
Rest in peace my friend...you were loved and you will be missed..

To my dear friend Karen, there are no words to describe how much I will miss you!! Karen you truly were my friend, you had a heart Bigger than life.I've met many people in my lifetime and I knew you would be a friend for life. Karen had the most positive outlook towards life. She truly loved life and lived it till to the fullest. I was blessed during your last few days and was able to tell you thank you for being my friend. We shared many memories together, remember the times we would meet for coffee and laugh about the good old times at Safeway. Oh and how I cherish that once a year event when we would call each other up and say "Nordstrom" is having their anniversary sale; we start the day off by having coffee and then shop all day.
My prayers go out to Dave her loving husband, Jennifer and Katie her beloved daughters, Karen's grandchildren that she adored and her mom and dad.
There is a song it's called "Sissy" by Alan Jackson, it's so much reminds me of you Karen, why did you have to go so young. Till we meet again my dear friend Karen, every time I look up in to the sky I will think of you
friends forever,
Angie

I got to know Karen when she would come to the District Office to have her conference calls and work on the computer. We would always talk for awhile...and we would find out if either one of us had gone on a recent Harley ride. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She loved her family and was very dedicated to her work. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. With deepest sympathy to her husband and family,

I have known Jenny and Katie since we were little. I remember Karen doing shrinky-dinks with Jenny, Katie, and I and watching Michael Jackson "Thriller" at a sleep-over. When I got scared, Karen thoughtfully let me sit on her lap. Although I felt embarassed, among 10 other girls, she helped me feel comforted and safe. Thoughts and blessings to all in the family. With warmest regards and deepest sympathy.

While I only had the pleasure of meeting Karen one time, she left a lasting impression. I have never met someone with a greater spirit. You are all so lucky to have known and loved such an incredible woman. My prayers go out to the Donovan/Johnson family in this difficult time.

Dear Dave and family, I don't think I have ever known a sweeter person than Karen. She really touched my heart from the first time I met her. Her smile was so beautiful and real. I feel so bad for your loss. I feel richer from having known her and poorer for knowing she is gone. May God bless you all. Love, "CC" Imfeld Ficcadenti

Karen was a wonderful lady. She always had a smile on her face. I had the privelage of working with her and sharing a District in NorCal with her for a while. She was a great mentor and friend to me. She loved to speak about her family, you would see her face light up every time she did. I will always remember her as someone who had a great influence on me not only at work but on a personal level as well. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. She will be greatly missed.

I met Karen the very first day that I started to work for a company called Stone Mill Foods at the Safeway in Menlo Park. Sher had just become a merchandiser, Over 15 Years ago. Karen, Deli Bob and Angie from Safeway became good friends and we would meet for lunch or coffee. Karen was a lovely lady and will be missed by all of us. My heart goes out to all of her family.

She truly will be missed.

Karen My Friend,

I met Karen when she was a Deli Asst. Manager in my district. I saw great potential in her as a leader. She worked her self right into more responsibility as a merchandiser. Karen was a friend and gave strong support to me during times of sorrow. She never talked about her pain, was upbeat, positive, and still full of fun. We had coffee together when I was working in her area. Karen, I was glad to be there to see you at the hospital these last few weeks. You reminded me that each day is a blessing from God. I have heart felt sympathy for Dave and your family. You will be missed by all that love you.
