Katherine Koutoufas Obituary

Katherine C. Petris Koutoufas Resident of Oakland Passed away in Oakland June 24, 2009. Predeceased by husbands Joseph Howard Sullivan (1956) and Spyros Panagis Koutoufas (1980). Children: Chris Joseph Sullivan (Kathy), Mary Sullivan Cox (deceased 1991), Pete Joseph Sullivan (deceased 2007), Marina Koutoufas, Kelly Koutoufas Rakos (Jim), Dear friend David Marshall. Brothers: Sen. Nicholas C. Petris (Anna), Gus C. Petris (Marie). Grandchildren: Jonathan, Christopher and Alexander Sullivan Cox, Nicholas, Anastasia and Alexis Rakos. Born in Sparks, NV, on May 9th, 1925 to Chris and Mary Petris. She was a graduate of McClymonds High School Class of 1943, where she was the first female student body president. Her career spanned years at the Oakland Army base, Kaiser Aluminum, East Bay Skills Center and Merritt College. She was an active member at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Ascension where she attended faithfully, sang in the choir, participated in the Senior Program and was a dedicated member of the Bible Study Group. She loved Oakland, the A's, her family, her friends, and the Lord. She will be greatly missed. Friends and family are invited to attend Trisagion Services Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 7:00pm at Santos-Robinson Mortuary, 160 Estudillo Ave., San Leandro, CA. Funeral Services Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 11 AM at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Ascension, 4700 Lincoln Ave., Oakland. Harry W. Greer Funeral Director (CA Lic FDR 745). Interment Mt. View Cemetery, Oakland. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to: St Jude's Research Hospital, or the Sen. Nicholas C.
