Katherine O'Shea Obituary

Katherine "Katy" O'Shea
May 19, 1930 - September 4, 2022
Dearly beloved daughter of the late John M. and Mary (Minnie) O'Shea, and loving sister of the late Michael J. O'Shea.
Katy is a native of San Francisco and was a graduate of St. Paul's Elementary and High Schools. After High School she went to work for the U.S. Government at Letterman Army Medical Center in the Presidio of San Francisco and retired from her duties after 43 years. Katy was an active member of St. Paul's Parish, a Charter Member of the United Irish Cultural Center in San Francisco, and a National Life Member of the LAOH St. Francis Division.
The latter years of Katy's life were enhanced greatly by the loving care and devotion of Harry and Rosaline McDavid, Megan, Kelly, J.C., and Rory; and her loyal and beloved shadow Marilyn Highlander-Pool. She shall be missed by all.
Friends are invited to attend the celebration of Katy's life on Tuesday, September 13th with visitation at 9:30 am to 10:30 am followed by the vigil service at 10:30 am, and the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am, all at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Valley and Church St's. in San Francisco. Services are under the direction of DUGGAN'S FUNERAL SERVICE – THE DUGGAN WELCH FAMILY in San Francisco with the committal services to follow after the mass at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Colma. Charitable donations in her memory may be sent to the St. Paul's Preservation Fund and are preferred.

Mention should be made indicating Katy's intense devotion to the BVM's and Fr. Mario Farana of St. Paul's Church.
Katy was an Associate of the BVM's and visited with her beloved friends numerous times in Dubuque, where she was loved and respected as a true BVM member.
When Katy retired from active employment, she became the assistant secretary and all around "person" at St. Paul's....devoted to Fr. Mario and to all the members of the church and school. She ran all the events....or was totally involved in them in some way....teas, sales, auctions, dinners....Katy was there...always
It was sad to witness her drift mentally away and have to leave St. Paul's.We will all remember her with respect, tenderness and love. Annette Schubert

Katie's parents Mary and John were close friends of my Grandparents Patrick and Mary Clifford....both from Kerry.....My Grandfather brought Ms Katie home from the hospital when she was born....Katie has always been such a welcoming person....her love of her parish St Paul's ....and her loyalty to the Irish Community are outstanding....she will be greatly missed...
Auntie Katie as she felt like she was related to me...rest in peace....
