In March of this year, Kathryn Manning Gorman passed away just days shy of her 75th birthday.
Born in Stanford, California to Edward and Marjorie Manning, Kathryn graduated from the University of Colorado, where she majored in Italian and Spanish. Her passion for language led her to the University's Junior Year Abroad program in Italy, studying at the University of Bologna. It was there she fell deeply in love with the country, sparking a lifelong passion for travel and cultural discovery.
Upon returning to California, she entered the financial services industry and built a successful career as an international banker. In 1981, she married William Gorman. Together, they shared 44 beautiful years filled with domestic and international adventures.
Kathryn eventually combined her professional expertise with her love of travel, launching a 20+ year career as a travel agent. She took great pride in meticulously researching destinations and accommodations, always crafting unforgettable experiences for her clients.
A tireless advocate for women's education, Kathryn was active in several philanthropic organizations and proudly a 50-year member of P.E.O.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband William; his children, Kim and Rachael; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Ami and John Sadler; Kathryn's sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Dick Bolling; her brothers Edward and Mark; along with her nieces, cousins, and many dear friends.
Kathryn was a bright, articulate, and ethical woman- full of spirit, dry wit, and an unwavering determination to succeed. Thoughtful and generous, she was the kind of friend everyone hopes to have. Her absence leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
