Kay Pellicciarini Obituary

Kay M. Pellicciarini passed away peacefully in Tiburon, California, on October 28, 2025. Her life reflected strength, grace, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew her.
Kay was born May 15, 1932, in Susanville, California, to Winstead J. Boyd and Kay C. Boyd (Shewmaker). In 1945, she moved with her family to Mina, Nevada. She attended Mineral County High School in Hawthorne, graduating in 1950.
Kay returned to California in 1954, making San Francisco her home. In 1955, she married Alfred Pellicciarini. Their marriage was one of mutual devotion, humor, and partnership. Al passed in 1990, and his memory remained a steady comfort to her through the years.
Kay worked many decades in the re-insurance industry for Guy Carpenter and Co. becoming the first woman Vice President of the company.
In her later years, Kay made her home in Tiburon, embracing each day, delighting in time with close friends, traveling and driving cross-country with her dear friends, Dolores, Terry and Teru.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Jackie, Jim, Ardene, Jack, Clark, and Pat. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Richard Pellicciarini and sister-in-law, Lynn Pellicciarini. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, multiple great-nieces and great-nephews, and dear friends Susan Helms and Lynne Carey, who remained close companions to Kay.
Kay's memory lives on in the lives she touched. She met life's joys and sorrows with grace and left those who knew her richer for having shared her journey.
Her memory is a blessing. Services for Kay will be held on December 11 at 1:30 at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 761 Hilary Drive, Tiburon CA 94920 with a reception to follow.
Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to your favorite charity in Kay's name.
