Kevin Molinari Obituary

Kevin Molinari
December 18, 1958 - October 4, 2022
Kevin "Mol" Molinari passed away suddenly at 63 years of age. He was the youngest of four sons born to Virginia and Donald Molinari (Deceased). Kevin was preceded in death by his brothers Jim and Steve. Kevin is survived by his sons Shane Patrick Molinari and Max Evan Molinari, Kevin's brother Richard Molinari, his nephew John Molinari and many loving relatives.
Kevin attended Saint Cecilia Grammar School, "The Finest the Greatest, and the Best", Sacred Heart High School, and Saint Mary's College. It was in these early years that Kevin developed an unyielding faith and numerous friendships that have continued throughout his life. Upon graduation from college, Kevin returned to San Francisco going to work as a Director in the Park and Recreation Department while studying for his Real Estate License. Kevin's keen mind for numbers and jovial personality was the perfect combination for a successful career in Real Estate. While most Brokers would return to the office to calculate the numbers on a deal Kevin would run the numbers and know the possibilities of a deal before he drove away from a building. Kevin mentored many friends and associates and followed Frank Sinatra's advice in life by always doing it "My Way ".
As is the case for many native-born San Franciscans of his time Kevin was equally proud of his Irish and Italian heritage. Kevin excelled in athletics up through his college days. Kevin was a lifelong faithful 49er fan and personally attended numerous playoff and Super Bowl games in the 80s. While most of Kevin's friends would get into the Stick through Mr. Smyk, Kevin stepped up and purchased season tickets. It was always a pleasure to get the invite to the game from Kevin for the proverbial round or two. No one wore a Hawaiian shirt with more flair than Kevin and no one enjoyed the King Henry Cut at the House of Prime rib more than Kevin.
In recent years Kevin continued to work on his investments but nothing was more important to Kevin than his beloved boys Shane and Max. Kevin's unyielding commitment to Shane and Max's wellbeing has been an honor to witness. Although you left us too soon Kevin, you're bigger than life personality and kindness will live with us forever.
Visitation will be on October 24, 2022, from 10:30 am to 11:20 in Saint Cecilia Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am in Saint Cecilia's Church, 2555 17th Ave San Francisco. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.

It was a blessing to know Kevin. He´s was a one of a kind man with a big heart that always made me laugh when I had the chance to talk to him. I wish we had time to talk again as I would have told him how much I appreciated his friendship over the years. Rest in peace Kevin. I´ll miss you.

Kevin "the Mol" Molinari! What a friend to us all! A very kind and generous soul.. As a young kid (I met him when I was 7 yrs old in St. Cecilia schoolyard) he taught us the ropes because we didn't go to school there (St. Anne's). Great ballplayer at whatever he did. When he started driving at 16 yrs old he always bought big bomber cars so he could pile 10 people in. Before my oldest brother "Hugh" passed away (1998) Kev came by in his convertible Lincoln Continental and took him out for the day of top down, girl watching, 1970's Rock & Roll blaring and then dinner. When "Hugh" came home he told me "Every day should be like this" because of Kevin! The memories of his friendship will never leave me. Thomas O'Boyle

I was a transplant from Boston. Kevin was my friend when I had no others. He basically took me in. Recently I´ve been in awe at how much he loved his boys and how proud he was of them. Every one of our conversations was full of laughter. This is a real loss for all of us. I´ll always think of him and smile

I met Kevin by working for him, over the years I got to know him well and got to know his family as well and become a friend. I enjoyed the talks we had and things we did over the years. He sure loves his family. He will be missed. I know I will think of him every time I use my outdoor grill.
Rest in peace good friend

One very fond memory I have of Kevin was running into him at the Monterey Rugby Tournament in Pebble Beach. I was a Freshman at St. Mary´s and was home for the weekend. Mol was quick witted and funny as hell. A true "City Boy." The last time I ran into him was 11 years ago at Marin Joes. We struck up a conversation and it was just like no time had passed at all. Great guy with a great heart. I will miss him immensely. God Bless Mol´s soul.

As an underclassmen to Kevin, he always treated me as an equal while at St. Mary´s College. He was fun to be around, and even though I hadn´t seen him since he graduated, he left a mark in my mind as one of my favorite Gaels.

Kevin growing up with you at SC and SH was quite an experience. You never shied away from any of our adventures. It was great being by your side in our youth and you made me proud to see how well you made a family and succeeded in your professions. You are missed dearly. Maybe we will meet again someday near Holy Cross.

Dear Molinari family and Shane and Max,
I was deeply saddened when I heard of Kevin´s passing. He truly embodied the spirit of a true native of the city of St.Francis. Phrases such as "larger than life" and "unbridled enthusiasm " come to mind when I think back of all the days, and nights, I was shared with Mol. We battled on the court during our CYO days and became close in our HS years when he was at SH...sitting together at Kezar watching our schools battle at the Bruce Mahoney games and then venturing out for the night in the city. He was always a joyous presence and had an unparalleled zest for life, and living, that he freely shared with all that joined the ride. He was also a devoted and loving father and cherished his boys. He will be missed by all who had the good fortune of spending any amount of time with him. He will alway be in my prayers.
