Kimiko Ogata Obituary

Kimiko (Kim) Ogata April 14, 1925-February 11, 2011 Passed away at 85 in her home with her granddaughter, Kimberly by her side. Kim had a very brief battle with cancer. She was a long time resident of San Mateo and a retired hair stylist who had owned the Van's Hair Salon. She enjoyed walking, going to the gym, gardening, shopping, and traveling. Preceded in death by her daughter, Marilynn Swaney in 2000 and her husband of 58 years Randall Ogata in 2005. Survived by her faithful canine companion Brady, who never left her side, granddaughters Kimberly McGarvey and Samantha Luna, son Dennis Ogata and siblings Jean Hamaguchi, Mary Wada, and Jim Ono. Kimberly would like to thank her grandmother's longtime caregivers Rosita and Emily and recent caregiver Guadalupe who gave such loving and wonderful care to Kim. There will be no services per Kim's request. Donations can be made in her memory to the Peninsula Humane Society/SPCA or the Alzheimer's Association. MAY YOU FINALLY REST IN PEACE
