Lawrence "Larry" LeVerne Ross
04/30/1930 - 09/15/2025
Lawrence (Larry) LeVerne Ross, a long time resident of the Bay Area, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025 in Novato, California. He was 95 years old.
Larry was born to Edgar and Opal Ross in Fresno, California on April 30, 1930. He was the eldest of three children (brother Stanley and sister Linda). Larry moved from Fresno to San Francisco with his family when he was 15 years old. He attended Washington High School, San Francisco City College and, after serving a tour of duty in Korea in the U.S. Air Force, continued his education at Golden Gate College where he graduated cum laude from the School of Accountancy with a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration. He then went to work for John F. Forbes, ultimately ending up as a partner in Peat Marwick Main & Co. Larry loved his career as a CPA and developed many lasting relationships with his clients during his years in the profession.
Larry's was a life well lived. He was blessed with 95 years and was determined to live each day to it's fullest. Even when asked how he was in his final days, he always replied, "Wonderful!" He was known for his warmth, keen sense of humor, kindness, loyalty, integrity and nurturing spirit. He was an outstanding athlete with a passion for golf and was an active member of California Golf Club (Cal Club) in South San Francisco for almost 50 years. He also enjoyed fine dining and was an aficionado on wines and all things related ~~~collecting wines, attending tastings, visiting wineries and belonging to wine clubs. Larry loved traveling, and he reveled in his time spent with family and friends,
Larry is survived by his much adored wife Bonnie Wendt Ross, step-daughter Leanna Kerby (Ken), step–granddaughter Jesse Goss (Cameron), step-great grandson Harrison, sister Linda Casentini (Lee) as well as his nephew Brian Casentini and nieces Lisa Boehmke, Debra Myers, Karen Myers, Katherine Siadak, and grand nieces and nephews Jordan Quist, Aly Quist, Kristin Myers, Nickolas Siadak and Adam Siadak. He was preceded in death by his son Steven Ross, first wife Rosemary Seaman Ross, second wife Barbara Raphael Ross and brother Stanley Ross. Larry enriched our lives with his wonderful presence and is deeply missed by all.
A Celebration of Life is to be scheduled at a later date.
