Presiding Elder Lewis Branch Presiding Elder Lewis Branch was born in Holly Grove, AR on September 9, 1925 and departed this life on November 30, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with bone cancer. His life, as well as his works of fifty-eight years (58) in the active ministry, touched many lives in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and Christendom. As a servant of God he exercised his talents and skills as Pastor, Presiding Elder and Marshal for the Council of Bishops through a long and faithful career. Presiding Elder Branch leaves to cherish his life and legacy his loving wife and best friend, Loe Ressie Montgomery-Branch; brother, Jasper Branch and spouse Sirlena; daughter, Sandra Threadgill and spouse Walter; sons-in-law Carl Montgomery and spouse Rosalyn; Chelton Montgomery and spouse Sheila; granddaughters, Mpenda and Tamu Threadgill; and a host of nieces, nephews, clergy and laity friends. Viewing at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave. Daly City, Thursday, December 4, 2008; 3:00 pm-9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 916 Laguna Street, San Francisco, on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Committal at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park Colma.
