Character actor Louis Zorich has died at the age of 93, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Zorich was the husband of actress Olympia Dukakis. They were married in 1962.

Their son Peter announced Wednesday on Facebook that Mr. Zorich had died in his sleep. A representative for Olympia Dukakis also confirmed his passing.

He may be best remembered for his role as Paul Reiser’s father on the popular sitcom “Mad About You.” He played the character from 1993 until 1999.

He appeared in the movies “Club Paradise” and “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” and he co-starred on the short lived TV series “Brooklyn Bridge.”

His nephew Chris Zorich was a star football player at Notre Dame who went on to play in the NFL for the Chicago Bears and the Washington Redskins.

He is survived by his wife and three children.
