Lynn McDevitt Obituary

Lynn Steele McDevitt

Lynn Steele McDevitt died peacefully in Manhattan on August 1 after a long illness. Lynn was a long-time resident of San Francisco and Stinson Beach, although she and her husband of 43 years, Michael, have lived in Manhattan's Upper East Side for many years, most recently on East End Avenue. She was an elegant and dignified woman who also possessed a wonderful, sometimes wicked, sense of humor. She was a caring and supportive sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by the many people fortunate enough to have known her. Until her retirement, Lynn was an active member of the staff of the Marymount School in Manhattan.
She liked nothing better than taking long walks in the Presidio and especially at Crissy Field – in every kind of weather - with her husband and her beloved Portuguese Water Dogs.
Lynn is survived by her husband Michael, her sister Heather, her three children Allison, Tad, and Jennifer, and grandchildren Benjamin and Brianna, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.

Dear Michael, I will always picture your elegant wife Lynn sitting on a Carl Schurz bench with Miss Molly by her side. I loved talking with her about our love of Portuguese Water Dogs. I send you my deepest condolences on your profound loss.
