Manuel Cabrera, Sr.

Manuel Cabrera Sr. returned home to the Lord on August 31, 2022 at 92 years young. The eldest child of Nicolas and Caridad Cabrera, he was born in the city of Baliwag, Philippines in the province of Bulacan where he grew up and was educated in the law eventually working for the Supreme Court of the Philippines. He moved to the United States with his family to pursue the American Dream. Shortly after his arrival, he purchased his first car followed by his home in Daly City where he would reside for the next 44 years.
An avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching and supporting the Bay Area pro teams including the Golden State Warriors and the San Francisco 49ers. An athlete himself, he played and participated in tennis and swimming. Indoors, his passions included singing and dancing. It's a safe bet that one would find him first on the dance floor showcasing his latest moves.
His first love, however, would be collecting and documenting memories of his family and loved ones through his camera and camcorder. He was a lifelong student embracing all things new and keeping himself informed on the latest and current.
Manuel is survived by his daughter, Carolyn, and his namesake, Manuel Cabrera, Jr. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Violeta, and his brothers and sisters Donato, Aracelli, Florencia, Gil, Tony, Sergio, Ruben, and Luis.
Friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, September 6 from 4-8pm and Wednesday, September 7 from 4-8pm with a vigil at 6pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 8 at 1pm at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Daly City. Interment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
