Passed away on the two-year anniversary of his wife Ethel's death. He was born in El Salvador in 1944, grew up in S.F., and lived in Pacifica for the past 45 years.
He loved the SF 49ers and Giants, enjoyed going to games and especially liked to relax with friends and family.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 31st, from 6-7:00pm at Chapel by the Sea, 801 Oceana Blvd., Pacifica, CA, with a Vigil Service at 7pm. A mass will be held on Tuesday, April 1st, at 10:00am at Good Shepherd Church, 901 Oceana Blvd., Pacifica, CA with reception to follow.

The entire St. Dunstan School Community extends our prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Mario Alas. He was a good and dear man. If a man's life is reflected by the kindred quality and goodness of his family and friends, then Mr. Alas lived a worthwhile and dignified life. He is now surrounded by the loving embrace of God. May he rest in peace and may our fond memories of Mr. Alas sustain us in the days ahead.

My brother-in-law Mario was appreciated and loved and will be remembered in part, for his being there for my family, he took the time to show he cared, through the difficult times. He was a great uncle to my kids, and a good brother to George. He will be missed till we see him again.

Only in the last year or so have I had the pleasure of getting to know Mario. Besides his gentle nature, what I liked best about him was how he appeared so serious that, when he laughed, it almost surprised me! It was a delight and a special gift he gave to others and it made my heart smile.
My deepest condolences to his family. You are all in my prayers.

My deepest sympathy to Mario's entire family. Being around or talking to Mario always guaranteed a good laugh and it always helped take away from the daily grind and stress. I kept running the weekly NFL football pool mainly just for Mario, despite his late payments and me having to provide him website and Internet assistance :) Thus, this upcoming season will be done in his memory. Thanks for the memories and good times, you will be missed my friend.
