Mary Furlong Obituary

Mary Helen Furlong, 83, passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 14th. Originally from Chicago and the surrounding area, Mary was a resident of San Francisco since 1955. Working for years as a barber shop manicurist, she made many friends downtown and in the Financial District. Her retirement was enjoyed in activities with the friends that she made at the Senior Center in Aquatic Park.

Mary is survived by her loving sons, Shawn and Tim Ghigliazza, her devoted daughter Anne Tamrazi and son-in-law, Alan Sakamoto. She leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Charlotte and Carl Ghigliazza, and beloved nieces, Cathyleen Nece, Cynthia Young and Mary McMahon. There will be a small family gathering to scatter her ashes at sea.

My condolences, Anne and all, on the loss of your mom. She was always very kind to me (35 years ago!), and she was simply "a hoot" to be around.
