Matthew Mills Obituary
Matthew Richard Mills, 79, passed away peacefully Monday, January 9th surrounded by his wife Cynthia, and children Brooke, Ben and Sarah.
Born in New York City in 1937 to Willis Nathaniel Mills and Esther Stehle Mills, he grew up in New Canaan, CT. He attended Kent School (1955), Yale University (B.A. Architecture, 1959) and University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Design (M.Arch, Cum Laude, 1965). He proudly served as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a founding partner of the architectural firm of Robinson Mills + Williams in San Francisco from which he retired in 1999 to Pinehurst, NC. In 2012 he returned to Northern California.
A memorial celebration is scheduled for April 1st in San Francisco. Details at www.MRMmemorial.com
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the California College of the Arts, RMW - Matthew R. Mills Endowed Scholarship.
