MICHAEL HSU Obituary


Michael Hsu
Born January 3rd 1956, passed away unexpectedly on October 16th surrounded by family at the age of 56.
He was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan to Pi Kwong Hsu and Yen Chu Chang. He immigrated to the United States in 1978, settling in Florida, before moving west to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and to Belmont, CA.
Michael was in the restaurant business for 34 years. His employment included Chez Michel, Ohsho Japanese Cuisine, La Folie and Chapeau French Bistro.
Michael was active and had many interests; tennis, playing Mah Jong, karaoke, wine tasting, fine dining, world traveling, and most of all spending time with his friends and family.
Michael is survived by current wife; Wei Wen Zheng, children; Candace and Ryan Hsu, and ex-wife; Betty Yee. He is also survived by his mother; Yen Chu Chang, sister; Susan (James) Shek, nephews; Mark and Timothy Shek, and sister; Mirand Hsu. Michael was preceded in death by his father Pi Kwong Hsu and brother in law Helmut Fenner.
A memorial service and viewing will be held on Sunday October 28th, 2012 at 11:00am at Skylawn Funeral Home in San Mateo, CA. A reception lunch will follow.
