First photo-June 1975. Michael J lost and finally found at a Napa Valley winery. 2nd photo-Michael J and Joanie-Sept 1977 on California coast and last photo in Mpls Apr 2001 for my 50TH birthday party. Michael J was a big man who lived large and loved even more. We met at St Cloud State College in 1970ish and he, nor his best friend Rockie, ever missed an opportunity for a good time. His full bodied belly laugh was contagious. His presence will not be forgotten. Thankful for our many times over so many years. Love, John "Harold" Lavander

My sympathy to Joan and Michelle. I didn´t know him well, mostly through stories from Gary. Now they are reunited in Heaven .

Mike (called Cowboy by many back in Minnesota) was a best friend to my sons´ Dad, Rocky. We saw the beautiful state of California through his invitation and welcoming home with Joan & Michelle. He stayed in touch after Rocky died when the boys were young. Checking in on us was a commitment he made to Rocky. Mike was a good friend, a loving husband and dad. He is missed already.
