Michael Sandler, a cherished resident of Coupeville, Washington, passed away on October 3, 2025, at age 74. Born in New York City, he developed an early passion for architecture and design, earning a BA in Architecture and building a thriving global career. Michael made significant contributions as an architect and designer in Asia and the U.S. He spent much of his professional life in Santa Monica and Berkele, before moving to the welcoming community of Coupeville.
Locally, Michael was known for his daily walks with his beloved Golden Retriever, Monk, and his enthusiasm for cars and motorcycles. He is survived by his nephews Nathan, Joseph, and Gabriel Sandler, dear friend John Callas, and colleagues across the world. He was preceded in death by his brother Arthur, mother Thelma, and father Joseph Sandler.
Michael will be deeply missed. Donations in his memory may be made to Whidbey Animals' Improvement Foundation (WAIF). Contact [email protected] if interested in his service.
