Michael Richard Siegfried

Michael Richard Siegfried December 17, 1928 - November 19, 2007 Resident of Livermore Michael Siegfried, 78, passed away peacefully at home in Livermore, Monday, November 19, 2007. Mike was born in Portland, OR, and moved to San Francisco in 1939. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1946 and attended the University of San Francisco and University of California Berkeley prior to joining the San Francisco Police Department in 1950. Drafted by the Army in 1951, Mike served until 1953 with the 25th Infantry Division, 35th Regiment and fought in the Korean Conflict. Mike returned to the San Francisco Police Department and retired as an inspector after 30 years of honorable service. Mike loved to hunt, fish, and camp throughout California as well as make frequent visits to Carmel where he and Patricia were married. All who knew him will miss Mike's contagious smile, witty sense of humor, practical jokes, warm spirit, and generous heart. Mike was preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia, and is survived by his daughter Carolyn Siegfried Putnam of San Francisco; son, Christian Siegfried; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Siegfried and grandchildren, Caitlin and Curtis Siegfried of Livermore. Visitation (6:00 PM) and Vigil (7:30 PM) will be held Monday, November 26, 2007 at Graham-Hitch Mortuary, 4167 First Street, Pleasanton, CA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1315 Lomitas Avenue, Livermore, CA 94550.
