Micheal Sugrue

85 of Oakland, CA passed away on December 17th,


A memorial service will be held at Corpus Christi Church on December 23rd. 


Michael was born in Ireland to Michael and Johanna on March 21, 1928. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.   He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1950 where he married Eileen Cox.  He had a long career as a loan officer at Crocker Bank, Union Bank and Wells Fargo making loans to small businesses.   He had a passion for literature and was a life-long student of the humanities.  He was a resident of Oakland for the past 45 years. 


Michael is survived by his son Kevin Sugrue; his son and daughter-in-law Brian Sugrue and Madeline Adamczeski; his son and daughter-in-law, Brendan and Kim Sugrue; his son John Sugrue; his daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Jamie Lease; his grandchildren, Michael Sugrue, Danielle Sugrue, Brandon Sugrue, Aidan Sugrue and Lena Sugrue; his great granddaughter, Addison Sugrue; his Brothers Donal Sugrue and Thaig Sugrue; and by his Sister, Maura Sugrue.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Sugrue.   


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society of Alameda County.
