IN APPRECIATION OF THE SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAMS Monterey County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Joe Moses Monterey County Sheriff's Aero Squadron Contra Costa County Sheriff Search and Rescue Marin County Sheriff's Department Search and Rescue California Air National Guard The Marshall Family would like to express our deep gratitude to all of the search and rescue teams that responded so quickly and professionally in the search for our brothers/sons Mike and Fred Marshall in the Little Sur River wilderness in April. You spent over eight days risking your lives searching in this very remote and treacherous area. We are very grateful that you located Fred, and although it turned out that Mike did not survive, it gave great comfort to our family that he was found and brought back to us. We appreciate the updates provided by Sgt Moses. His daily contact with Mike and Fred's mother, Ann, kept her at ease during this difficult time, and she is very appreciative. We are deeply appreciative, having learned that many of the members of the search and rescue organizations are volunteers, many using their personal equipment. We very much appreciate the expertise and dedication, the training and sacrifice of all persons who were involved in searching for Mike and Fred in very dangerous conditions.
