A model for us all. From the first grade in Havens School, thru PHS, Kimmers, and at UC Berkeley. Buz was such a steadfast friend. A diligent worker; at Kezar Stadium, at the Kaiser estate at Tahoe, at CAL, in sales, and such a friend to the youth of Piedmont.

To the Redford family:
Allow me to join the many voices who are trying to find the words to express their sadness upon learning of the passing of Buzz. I knew Buzz as a kind and compassionate man...a true gentleman who will be missed by many Piedmonters. Please know his consistent thoughtfulness was always appreciated by the Craigie family.

Like most Piedmont families, we have benefitted from the good efforts that Buzz brought to Piedmont Rec. He was a tireless supporter of youth athletics in the Piedmont community. We will all miss him greatly.

I only met Buzz a few times, but I do remember several great conversations about him with Kevin when we were college roommates. Kevin spoke very proudly of his father and no doubt is the great guy he is today because of him. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I had the pleasure of working with Buzz at the Piedmont Rec. I got to know him both personally and professionally. He was a good friend and a mentor. He was a man of strong integrity and conviction. Buzz always took great pride in his job and cared about all the kids in his programs. It was an honor and privilege to work with him and know him.

To the Redford family...

I am so sorry to hear of the recent loss of Buzz. I remember him SO fondly coaching us as little girls on the soccer field. Although we are grown now, we are NOT who we are without the experiences we had during our time in Piedmont. I was devastated to hear of your loss of Buzz, I will never forget the memories I had of him and with all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Love,
Jenn Farber

I did contract work for Buzz for many years through the Piedmont Rec. He was a great customer, great guy and hands down one of the most honest, down-to-earth people I have met in my job. I considered him a friend and am so sorry for your loss.

Even if it was for far too short a time, it was a privilege to get to know Buzz Redford. In the first few moments after shaking his hand, you would know this was a special human being and a truly honorable and compassionate man. I am honored to continue being a part of the extended family and look forward to hearing more special memories about him in the future.
