Myles Fleming Obituary

Myles Fleming
03/25/1942 - 09/28/2025
Myles was born on March 25, 1942 in Dublin, Ireland. He is the youngest of six children, born to Elizabeth Downey and Patrick Joseph Fleming. He passed peacefully on Sunday September 28, 2025 after a period of failing health. Myles was very enamored by the American culture of the 1950s - After working in England in canning factories and saving, in 1964 he came to America sponsored by his brother Sean in Reseda, California. In a couple of weeks he had a car and a job at Yosemite National Park as a bartender in the Lodge - and so began the good American life! He met Carole, the love of his life, the Summer of Love in San Francisco in 1969.
He moved from Yosemite at that time . They married in 1973 and Myles was with Carole until she passed in October of 2017. Myles loved to hike, travel, and the outdoors. He loved people. He loved meeting up with "the lads" for a jar or two at an Irish pub nearby. He also loved Saturdays working as a bartender at the Nags Head and weekdays as a security guard at one of the high rises in downtown San Francisco. As a couple he and Carole shared everything.
Myles is survived by a sister, Sister Mary of Ireland, brother Sean of Southern California, brother Joe of the United Kingdom, brother Patrick, several nieces and nephews, a step daughter Sue and her husband Chadd Lalime of New Hampshire their three children (Myles and Carole's grandchildren - (Chelsea, Chadd Jr./CJ, and Peter) and neighbors Marcie and Bob Frantz. Myles was predeceased by his parents and his sister Esther:
A celebration of Myles life will be held at 11:00 am at Alma Via, 1 St Thomas More Drive San Francisco on Saturday October 4, 2025 where Myles spent the last couple of his years under great care!
