Nancy Moran Campbell, a resident of Mill Valley for 39 years, died on August 1, 2018 at the age of 83. She was born on November 22, 1934 in Nova Scotia, Canada. She graduated from Wooster College in Ohio in 1953 and received a Master of Education degree in 1957 from Cornell University.

Nancy married, lived in New York, then moved to Germany where she taught young children on an American military base. When she returned to the United States she came to California, landing in San Francisco. She then moved to Mill Valley where she taught for many years at five different elementary schools. After she left the classroom environment she tutored the children of immigrant families and taught private piano lessons.

For over forty years, Nancy was a dedicated member of the Community Congregational Church (CCC) of Tiburon, California. She sang in the CCC Choir, and created the popular weekly CCC Wisdom Seekers group and the annual Musicale. A lover of music, Nancy also sang for a number of years with the Dominican University Chorale in San Rafael, California.

After her stroke in 2014, Nancy lived in a rehabilitation facility in Tiburon. Whenever possible, she continued to attend CCC and to sing with her beloved choir.

Nancy is fondly remembered for her honesty, compassion and good humor. She was an avid, eclectic reader, and was relentlessly curious. She is survived by two cousins in Canada.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Community Congregational Church in Tiburon, conducted by Rev. David Gregory.
