Nancy Gonzales Obituary

Nancy Ann Gonzales
08/19/1957 - 09/17/2025
Nancy Gonzales, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at the age of 68. She was born on August 19, 1957, in San Francisco, California, to Frances Woodall (Rodiack) Tochilin and Slava "John" Tochilin. Nancy proudly spent her entire life in the Bay Area. She grew up in the Sunset District and treasured her childhood, especially summers spent with her family at the Russian River. She attended St. Gabriel's School and graduated from Mercy High School. She would later go on to receive her Associate's degree from City College of San Francisco.
In 1989, Nancy married her life partner, Mike Gonzales. Together, they built a home in Pacifica, where they raised their two children. Over the years, Nancy worked as both a bank teller and a bookkeeper, balancing her career while raising her family with dedication and grace.
Nancy found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life: walking with friends, gathering around a table to share a meal, and planning countless family vacations. Her husband and children will treasure the memories of time spent at the family cabin near Lake Tahoe, unforgettable trips to Disneyland, and adventures in Hawaii. She loved people deeply, had a wonderful sense of humor, and often surprised everyone with her quick wit.
Selfless and compassionate, Nancy always put others before herself. She was a steady source of love, strength, and encouragement to all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will never be forgotten.
In 2010, Nancy courageously overcame a breast cancer diagnosis, blessing her family with another 15 precious years of life and laughter. In March 2025, she was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and, despite her strength and resilience, passed away surrounded by her loved ones. The family expresses their gratitude to Kaiser hospice and caretaker Mae for their professionalism and compassion.
Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Mike Gonzales; her children, Jordan (Jolie) and Nicole; her brother, Steve (Natalie) Tochilin; sisters-in-law, Jill (Nick) Yaranon and Dana (Robert) Ribero, along with assorted loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The American Cancer Society in Nancy's memory. Services to be announced at a later date.
