Very tragic and heartbreaking. Naveed Sami was my childhood buddy. A thorough gentleman. Spent wonderful times together. Great memories as teenagers. Left too soon. You will sorely be missed. Rest in peace my friend, Ameen..

Naveed was like a brother to me. We worked together at VDOT, accomplished some great new practices for pavement data collection QA/QC, pavement management analysis, transportation asset management and co-authored several papers at the Transportation Research Board. I always looked forward to having him participate in project activities because his logical approach (and some humor) made difficult problems easier. My deepest condolences to Emily and his children Waleed and Noor. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Naveed had a beautiful way of looking at life. I worked with him nearly a decade ago, but will always remember his gentle kindness. I wish his family and close friends peace and prayers at this difficult time.
