Born in Fort Bragg, CA, son of Maria Klobas and George Cernac, youngest of 8 siblings, Norman died after a short illness in the presence of his daughter, Joy. He is survived by nieces, nephews and friends. A loyal Giants fan and true athlete, he trained for the Minor League, played golf and bocce ball. He was a longtime member of S.F. Thank you very much, Joy, for adding those great personal pix. I miss Norm and really wish I could visit him today. Those photos, though, add great context to his life and are a reminder of of what a fine man he was.

It still saddens me that Norm has left the Earth. I hope he is enjoying sports and reading the WSJ where he is now.
Miss ya, Norm.

Our Condolences to you Joy at the loss of your Dad Norm. We have many fond memories of Norm from our Friday night dinners with him at the Elks Lodge, San Francisco to his trips down to Palm Springs to visit for a few days before heading out on a road trip over to Phoenix for Spring Training, catching a few Giants games and of course a couple of golf games. Norm had a great sense of humor and a great laugh. Norm also volunteered for many years on a Christmas in April project I was coordinating, he and his buddy Ron Brown (deceased) would pair up and either repair a fence or build one for a senior, the banter back and forth on those projects was hilarious with the two of them. They always did a great job. I recall Norm's first visit to us in Palm Springs, we picked him up at the airport at 10:00AM and I asked how his flight was, he said it was fine but that he was tired. So I asked what time he got up that morning and he said I never went to bed, he sat up all night so he would not miss his flight! That was Norm. We will truly miss you Norm, Rest in Peace Dear Friend Bernie and Mike O'Neill

Norm's path and mine crossed in the workout room in our condo complex several years ago. We often discussed issues of the day, sports, finance and politics. I enjoyed talking with him very much and considered him an informed person and a gentle man. It's been about 2 years since we last talked in person since I moved away from San Bruno and he appeared as always...in good shape and fine spirits. I am so sad, and shocked, to learn of his passing. Joy, and his extended family, have my very deepest condolences.

My heartfelt sympathy to Joy, Joe, and the rest of Norm's family. I met Norm several years ago shortly after he moved to San Bruno. We instantly became friends and remained so until his passing. Norm and I fished, played golf and bocce ball together.During this period, I never herd Norm say a bad thing about anybody. He was a true gentleman and loyal friend. "Gonna miss ya buddy. Rest in peace"
