Ole Thogersen Obituary
1930-2016
Born in Copenhagen in 1930, Ole grew up during the Nazi occupation of Denmark. Later, he became an Electrical Engineer and traveled to America, intending to stay a year. Ole met his wife, Dorothy Jo Waddell as she completed her medical training at Stanford. They married in 1967, settling in Oakland. Ole designed electrical systems for heavy industry while enjoying trains, long trips to Africa, Europe and Asia, and the metric system. Ole's last years were embittered by Parkinson's disease and Dorothy's death in 2000. He passed peacefully on February 18th in Oakland. He is survived by daughter Lise, son Erik, daughter-in-law Jessica Strick, granddaughter Zoe, and brothers-in-law Paul Waddell, Mark Waddell and Scott Vickers. A memorial is scheduled for April 16th, 11am at Montclair Presbyterian Church in Oakland, CA.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
