Ora Cooper Obituary

Ora Lee Bell Cooper Slipped away peacefully in her sleep on July 28. Ora Lee was born in the town of Gonzales, TX, the oldest of seven children. In 1941 she and her husband arrived in San Francisco, CA. where they immediately invested in their first property, which was the beginning of many years of property investment for her in SF and Los Angeles. She joined the Macedonia Baptist Church where she was a longtime member and sang in the choir, and in recent years she changed her membership to Providence Baptist Church. She was also a longtime fixture in her neighborhood; small in stature, and tirelessly working in her yard. She is survived by her last sibling, Mrs. Lillie Murdock of Santa Ana, CA; and her sons and grandchildren; many close cousins, nieces, nephews, and their children in California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas. She is also survived by her godsons, Donnie and Ronnie Waits of SF. The family would like to thank her neighbors of many years on Los Palmos Drive for their kindness and friendship; Mr. Joe Moseley, Helga Ezazi, and especially Mrs. Ruth Coleman and her daughter Pat for their love, attention and visits during these last few years of illness. We are also grateful for the service given by Mr. Vaughn O. Nixon, of the Duggan Welch Mortuary. A private funeral service was held in her home town, with Interment in the family plot, next to her parents.
